Marta Mantero
Marta Mantero
Marta Mantero is an incontournable reference in theinterior design in Portugal, known for her refined taste and personal approach to her spaces. After graduating Interior Design at IADE, she opened in 1988 her first shop in Bairro Alto, in Lisbon, marking the start of a carrer that quickly spread across the country.
In 2001 she founded Almogador, a showroom specialzied in artisanal pieces from Morocco and other countries, thanks to her travels and natural curiosity for materials and decor traditions. Between 2009 and 2012, she opened new spaces in Grândola and Comporta, with Rice revealing itself as a local landmark that has become an icon of elegant and welcoming design in the region.Marta’s identity is marked by an eclectic, relaxed and timeless style. Rather than following trends, she claims to have ‘a taste that spans different styles’, intuitively combining pieces to create sophisticated yet comfortable environments that are in harmony with her clients and the context. The design of a historic house in the south of France, for example, stands out as a unique challenge, demonstrating her ability to adapt to new scenarios and her insistence on maintaining an intimate and dedicated approach to each project.
Marta continues to focus on residential interior design projects, with a small team that allows her to maintain a personal connection to each project. Her ambition is not to expand, but rather to remain faithful to the distinctive character of her work — a combination of discreet elegance, artisanal sensitivity and artistic integrity.
