Luís Branco

He studied Industrial Design at ESAD Matosinhos and finished his degree in 2005. Since a young age he always had the curiosity of touching, disassemble e learn how things were made, understand the objects, choice of materials, relationship between form and fuctions and the product’s ergonomy.
At ESAD, he deepened his creative abilities and developed ways to communicate his ideas through drawings and 3D modelling. These tools for creative expression and virtual visualisation opened up a whole new world that completely captivated him. In 2005, he entered the job market as a furniture designer in a factory and it was love at first sight. He considers it a very appealing sector because wood and its derivatives are very easy to cut, machine, sculpt and colour. He gained a lot of experience in reconciling design and production, acquiring know-how and solidity in responding to professional challenges.
In 2016, he fulfilled his dream of opening his own design studio, ‘BNCO,’ where he continues to work today. In his view, industrial design is a balance between aesthetics/functionality and production. It challenges the user to experience new sensory experiences, whether through shape, colour or texture.
The goal is to provide a quality design service in the search for a distinctive, appealing and competitive product that honours both the producer and the end consumer.
