Topázio opens luxury exhibition ‘150 Years of Topázio’
Topázio, the Portuguese brand of national and international renown, celebrated its 150th anniversary with the opening of the luxury exhibition ‘150 Years Topázio’, which took place on 28 November at MUDE – Museu do Design, in Lisbon.
The opening will mark a century and a half of Topázio’s history, a tribute to its unrivalled legacy of precious metal art and design. Curated by the prestigious designer Toni Grilo, the exhibition brings together an extraordinary selection of exclusive creations, highlighting the collaboration of some of the most influential contemporary authors.
The exhibition features heavyweight names such as Joana Vasconcelos, Iva Viana, Sam Baron, Alain Gilles, Emmanuel Babled, Christian Haas, Guto Requena, Luca Nichetto, Gabriel Tan, Manuel Aires Mateus, João Jesus, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, Marco
Sousa Santos, Anabela Dias and Toni Grilo, all of whom were invited to reinterpret the tradition and elegance that characterise the Topázio brand. Through exclusive and unique pieces, each author offers a distinctive vision, fusing artisanal techniques with contemporary innovation.
Toni Grilo, known for his visionary approach to design, brings to the exhibition a close look at the fusion between tradition and modernity, creating a narrative that celebrates Topázio’s rich history while projecting its future.
Vânia Nogueira, Topázio’s Marketing Director, emphasises that ‘the exhibition aims not only to celebrate our legacy, but also the innovation that defines Topázio. The unique vases on display represent the perfect fusion between the expertise of our artisans and the creativity of several contemporary authors. This event is a testimony to our evolution, where tradition meets modernity.’
Under the motto ‘The tradition of the new times’, Topázio sought to emphasise its contemporaneity by enhancing the centuries-old know-how of Topázio’s artisans, combining it with the disruptive vision of the invited authors.
