Portugal strengthens its presence in the North American market at HD Expo + Conference 2026

Portugal’s participation in the HD Expo + Conference 2026 was marked by a strong presence of the wood and furniture sector in one of the most relevant international events dedicated to the hospitality and contract design industry, which took place between May 5 and 7 in Las Vegas, USA.

Promoted by the AIMMP (Association of Wood and Furniture Industries of Portugal) as part of the Inter Wood & Furniture internationalization plan, the national delegation brought together twelve Portuguese companies: IBTW Portugal, Maria Bike, Martos, More Contract, Nolita Harbour, Omnipellets, Sofli®, TemaHome, Toronobre, Wewood, Wonatti Luxury Craftsmanship, and X8 Solutions Group.

Over the course of three days, this participation strengthened the international positioning of Portuguese companies among architects, designers, hotel groups, investors, and industry professionals, promoting direct contact with the highly competitive and demanding North American market.

The participating companies presented solutions that highlight Portuguese industrial capacity, quality, and design, representing various areas of the sector—from furniture and interior design to sustainable solutions and biomass—within a context of growing demand for distinctive products aligned with new industry requirements.

According to Vítor Poças, President of AIMMP:

“The Portuguese participation in the HD Expo + Conference has once again demonstrated the ability of national companies to meet the demands of international markets, reinforcing the reputation of the Portuguese sector in a strategic market like the United States.”

The Portuguese presence also facilitated the consolidation of commercial relationships, the identification of new business opportunities, and the enhancement of the international visibility of the participating companies at an event recognized as one of the world’s leading platforms for the hospitality sector.

This initiative was part of the Inter Wood & Furniture internationalization plan, a project promoted by AIMMP that has been bolstering the international projection of the wood and furniture industry through participation in benchmark trade fairs and external promotional actions in strategic markets.
