I have to buy a few bottles!… – Well, that’s exactly how I discovered the wine I’m recommending to you today: the Quinta da Folgosa Velha Reserva Tinto 2020 Douro DOC. [This beautiful nectar is produced by Sociedade Agrícola Quinta da Folgosa Velha, a family-owned business belonging to the Figueiredo family. On their approximately 16-hectare estate, located in Folgosa do Douro, they grow top-quality grapes in a mix of traditional vineyards and terraced vineyards.]
Since this wine comes from the oldest vineyards of Quinta da Folgosa Velha, situated between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, respecting nature and following sustainable viticulture practices, it showcases the full potential of the Douro’s old vines to produce wines of great elegance, complexity, and aging potential.

Tasting notes
With a deep ruby color, the nose reveals aromas of wild
berries and eucalyptus leaves.
The palate is enveloping, echoing the aromatic notes and
offering a touch of freshness—perhaps from the eucalyptus—with
round, soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish. In short, a
very well-balanced wine with good aging potential.
