Julien Renault

Julien Renaul trepresents a new generation of European designers who combine industrial rigour with artistic sensibility. Born in France and trained at the École de La Cambre (Brussels) and ECAL (Switzerland), his career has been marked by important collaborations with brands such as Hay, Hem, Mattiazzi and Cruso – where furniture is thought of as a natural extension of everyday life. His work stands out for its attention to detail, the honesty of its materials and its formal clarity. Renault does not seek to reinvent the object, but rather to purify it down to its functional and aesthetic essence. His pieces – tables, chairs, lamps – have a discreet but assertive presence, revealing a subtle balance between tradition and modernity.Based in Brussels, the designer has also developed his own work, with exhibitions and installations that explore the boundaries between art and industrial design. His visual language is contemporary and refined, but deeply connected to materiality and the human scale. Julien Renault is a name to follow closely: he represents a more conscious European design, focused on durability, the ethics of production and the restrained beauty of well-made objects.
