Nelson Soares Moreira : Is it Beautiful or merely pretty?
The creation of a piece is, truly, a manifestation of the Beautiful. The Beauti ful is absolute, timeless—a genuine expression of the internal creativity of each Being.
It emerges from complete freedom, unbound by external standards, prejudices, or impositions.
It reflects what is intrinsic to the creator, a materialisation of intellect, sensations, emotions, and feelings that cannot be replicated, because it is unique in essence.
In contrast, the prett y is conditional. It results from external influences—fashions, trends, or pre-established concepts. The pretty is ephemeral, ti ed to space-ti me and the subjectivities that shape it. While it may please the eye, it lacks the depth and immutable value of the Beauti ful, as it reproduces what has already been defi ned, limiti ng itself to reinterpreting existing patt erns.
In authorial creati ons, the Beauti ful transcends materiality and is rooted in creative freedom. It is authentic city that cannot be copied. Even though legal protection may guarantee rights over the work, the true safeguard lies in what is impossible to imitate: the unique connection between the creator and what is created. It is the internal, evoluti onary process that ensures each work remains unrepeatable.
While the pretty exhausts itself within its temporal limitatons, the Beautiful endures, transcending generations.
It is the essence of creati vity that inspires and withstands the test of ti me. Thus, when we value an authorial piece, we value
more than its appearance; we recognise the intellectual labour, the creati ve freedom, and the profound uniqueness that it embodies.
The Beautiful has no legal protection, for it is protected by
Nature itself!
