“His pieces reflect a quest for elegance and lightness in a sculptural play of lines and geometric forms.”
Having studied woodworking and carving at FRESS, classical construction methods and traditional joinery are employed to ensure solidity and longevity in the crafted pieces. All the work is done manually and finished with a plane, without the use of sandpaper. The finished surfaces acquire a special sheen and a light texture given by cutting the wood fibers with a hand plane. Defects and small errors are embraced with no pretense or disguises. His pieces reflect a pursuit of elegance and lightness in a sculptural play of lines and geometric forms. Beauty. His designs, construction methods, and techniques continue to evolve hand in hand with experience and time. There is a certain rudimentary air in his pieces. It’s his primitive side.
