Carlos Mello

Carlos Mello, a 27-year-old artist from Paços de Ferreira, grew up in a profoundly artistic environment, influenced by his father – the sculptor JCarlos – and a strong family heritage tied to art.
From an early age, he discovered his passion for transforming raw materials, developing a creative vision that led him to study Product Design in Viana do Castelo. He specialized in footwear in São João da Madeira and furthered his knowledge in Fashion Design at the Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” in Naples, Italy.
At the age of 19, he presented his first footwear collection, “Exotic”, at Gallery Shoes in Germany. Later, he collaborated with designer Luís Onofre, an experience that provided him with in-depth knowledge of the industry and opened new doors in the world of design.
In 2021, he founded MainGUILTY, a brand that combines art and design in a disruptive and avant-garde way. Through his sculptural furniture, he seeks to tell stories, challenge limitations, and evoke emotions. The company quickly crossed borders, establishing a presence on five continents and being recognized in 2022 by Associative Design as a breakthrough brand.
More than creating products, Carlos Mello aims to transform spaces and challenge perspectives. He has collaborated with brands such as Somersby, Super Bock, and Olá Gelados, developing exclusive projects that merge creativity with functionality.
Currently, his work is on permanent display at the Sergey Markofken art gallery in Dubai and the Cork Museum at World of Wine in Gaia, Porto.
His journey reflects a constant pursuit of innovation and authenticity. Always looking toward the future while staying inspired by his roots, he explores new forms of expression, blending art, design, and technology to bring creations to life that spark curiosity and reflection.
