The PNAM’25 ceremony celebrated timber architecture

The National Wood Architecture Award – PNAM’25 – Presentation Ceremony took place on 12 March at the Teatro Aveirense, bringing together architects, engineers, representatives from academia and industry, as well as institutional decision-makers, to celebrate wood as an essential material for more sustainable construction.
The event was attended by the Minister for Agriculture and the Sea, José Manuel Fernandes, the Secretary of State for Forestry, Rui Ladeira, the Secretary of State for Culture, Alberto Santos, and the Secretary of State for Housing, Patrícia Machado Santos, underscoring the event’s institutional significance.
Organised by AIMMP, the Portuguese Institute of Architects and the Portuguese Confederation of Construction and Real Estate (CPCI), the PNAM once again recognised projects carried out in Portugal that demonstrate the skilful use of timber and its derivatives, both as a structural material and as a constructive and expressive element. The award maintained its commitment to regulatory rigour, the independence of the jury, and technical, ethical and cultural standards.
