Paulo Merlini launches new documentary series on the future of architecture
The new series Arquitetando o Futuro (Architecting the Future) invites some of Portugal’s leading architects to give a voice and a face to the names that are redefining contemporary Portuguese architecture.
In each episode, they delve into the ideas, references and decisions that shape medium and large-scale projects — where aesthetics, functionality and the choice of materials such as ceramics play a decisive role. Each episode will reveal the perspectives, careers and work of architects who are designing the future with sensitivity, innovation and responsibility.
The series, produced by Brands Channel in partnership with Margres, has already premiered its first episode, which highlights architect Paulo Merlini, whose work and philosophy place human well-being at the centre of architecture.
With traits inherited from childhood — encouraged by his father through drawing — Merlini embraced architecture as a creative and practical discipline, finding in human biology a basis for his thinking and architectural approach.
This episode is an invitation to explore architecture with purpose, where aesthetics serve functionality and human experience.
