Líbere Hospitality Group strengthens its investment in Portugal with its second investment in Porto

Líbere Hospitality Group (LHG), the largest Spanish operator of alternative short- and medium-term accommodation, has taken another step in its consolidation in Portugal by signing a management contract for a new property in the Boavista district, Porto. This aparthotel, which will have 58 units and is strategically located at Rua Júlio Dinis 604, reflects the company’s strong commitment to Portugal as a key market in its international expansion strategy.

The Boavista district is one of the most dynamic and sophisticated areas in Porto. Recognized for its importance as a financial, cultural, and commercial center, it stands out for iconic landmarks such as the emblematic Avenida da Boavista, Casa da Música – a landmark of contemporary architecture – and its proximity to the City Park and the beaches of Matosinhos. This environment perfectly combines modernity, culture, and tranquility, offering guests a unique and high-quality experience.

The operation was structured in collaboration with the team from Ureno Real Estate Advisory LDA, a Portuguese company with extensive experience in managing and executing hotel projects in Porto. Ureno received the 2022 National Real Estate Award and the 2024 National Urban Rehabilitation Award. Ureno will be responsible for the entire project execution oversight.

This operation was carried out with the contribution of Urbanitae as the financial partner, providing 85% of the total capital. The total investment for the project is estimated at €12,000,000.

This new project, which is expected to be delivered in July 2026, joins the property signed in August this year in Vila Nova de Gaia (21 units), increasing the total number of units in Porto to 79 and strengthening Líbere Hospitality Group’s position in the region. The operation was carried out in partnership with Caler, a leading partner in managing high-quality projects in strategic locations, reinforcing LHG’s ability to realize its vision of international growth.

Closing a year of growth and reinforcing the future

2024 has been a remarkable year for Líbere Hospitality Group, marking a milestone in its journey with the signing of 79 new units in Porto, adding to the consolidation of its successful model in Lisbon. These ventures reflect not only the company’s confidence in the Portuguese market but also its strategic vision to identify and capitalize on opportunities in key locations.

“Our commitment to Portugal is clear: it is a strategic market with sustained growth and an increasing demand for flexible and modern accommodation. We are convinced that our innovative solutions and our focus on quality will allow us to continue leading the sector in the region,” says Antón de la Rica, Co-CEO of Líbere Hospitality Group.

Growth in Portugal is in line with LHG’s global expansion plan, which aims to strengthen its position as a leader in alternative accommodation in Southern Europe. With a portfolio that already totals more than 1,700 units across Spain, Portugal, and Greece, the company demonstrates its ability to combine innovation, design, and functionality, adapting to the needs of modern travelers.

“Portugal has been a transformative market for Líbere Hospitality Group since our arrival just two years ago,” says de la Rica. “Our growth in the country, particularly in Porto, reaffirms our commitment to offering high-quality alternative accommodation in key locations. With this new project in Boavista, we are not only expanding our presence but also consolidating our long-term vision of leading the market in Portugal.”

With this new acquisition, LHG consolidates its position as one of the leading operators in the alternative accommodation market in Portugal, continuing its mission to offer unique and memorable experiences to travelers in the country’s major cities.
