THE 9th EDITION OF THE EVENT PROMOTES THE DEBATE ON THE
DIGITAL TRANSITION IN CONSTRUCTION AND THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON DESIGN
Homeing, the interior design event, returns to Pavilhão Carlos Lopes, in Lisbon, from 19 to 21 September, with an edition dedicated to Storytailors. Already a benchmark in the sector, the 9th edition of Homeing has a varied programme that promises toprogramme that promises to reveal the main trends, techniques and novelties in the sector.
As in previous editions, Homeing is promoting a programme of talks called ‘Let’s Talk About’, based on the sharing of knowledge and the promotion of networking between various industry professionals.

present inspiring spaces and promote moments of reflection and debate around current issues that
directly impact the sector.
The first day begins with a participatory debate on the Digital Transition of Construction in Portugal and the necessary adaptation of AEC industry players, moderated by Cláudia Antunes, Regional Lead Women in BIM in Portugal.
Also on the first day of the event, there will be a round table discussion on ‘Storytailors:
How Narratives Shape the Soul of Spaces’, reinforcing the motto of the current edition. This dynamic will be coordinated by Nini Andrade Silva, a prestigious Portuguese interior designer.

In this panel, the designer will emphasise the importance of creative narratives in interior design projects.
interior design projects, since for Nini Andrade Silva ‘buildings tell stories and design projects must
reflect the history, culture and identity of a community’. At the same time, the designer will present one of her most recent creations, Sofa Duna, a piece of authorial design made entirely from solid, recycled cork. Sofa Duna won the prize for best design piece at the Internationalby the International Design & Architecture Awards in London and recently became part of one of the most important design museum collections in the world.
On the second day, Homeing’s first dynamic was the panel from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, made up of master’s and doctoral students in the field. This panel will discuss various topics related to the motto of this 9th edition, namely ‘Narrating stories through design’, ‘Design and Storytelling in the Circular Linear Transition’ and ‘Curatorship and Exhibition Design (AS)SENTAR’.
On the morning of the second day, the MESA Atelier will also be presented under the motto ‘From commerce to housing’, which aims to hold a debate on the reconstruction of closed commercial spaces, buildings and degraded urban voids in the centre of large cities, which will enable new groups of people who want to live there to settle permanently new groups of people who want to live and/or develop their own businesses.
To finalise this series of conferences, a talk will be given by Gabriel Augusto, Director of FLAG, who will address ‘The New Normal: How AI is Transforming Our World’. Also noteworthy is the dynamic programme led by Patrícia Catalão, who, for the second time, is presenting a creative project for
creative project for Homeing – the ‘Crossing Atlantic Pavilion’. This year, the project is inspired by the history of the Carlos Lopes Pavilion, in a symbiosis between Portuguese architecture and Brazilian design, in honour of the building’s origins and architecture.
