FIMMA + Maderalia 2026 puts wood in the spotlight of design, interior design and contract projects

This edition will see the launch of the Interior Design and Contract Ágora, in collaboration with the CDICV and sponsored by Cucine Home Group, featuring a programme of conferences and round tables highlighting the value of wood in interior design and contract projects. Alongside the Ágora, in the Level 3 concourse, the Escola d’Art Superior i Disseny Space will connect design, education and industry with the support of the Catarroja and Paterna Training Centres and sponsorship from Lamiplast.

FIMMA + Maderalia 2026 is strengthening its commitment to interior design and contract projects with the first edition of the Interior Design and Contract Ágora, a new professional space that will bring interior designers, architects and specifiers closer to the latest innovations in wood, coverings and materials used in spatial design.

In collaboration with the College of Interior Designers of the Valencian Community (CDICV), the Ágora responds to growing professional interest in discovering new technical solutions and materials that add value to projects, in a context where design, innovation and material selection play a fundamental role in defining residential, commercial and contract spaces.

The Ágora will take place on 11 and 12 November in a prime location within the exhibition centre: the Level 3 concourse, between Halls 1 and 2. Its programme will combine conferences and round tables featuring leading professionals from interior design, architecture and industry, providing a meeting point to share experiences and explore the possibilities of wood and new materials in contemporary projects.

The initiative is sponsored by Cucine Home Group, a company specialising in lighting and ergonomics for kitchens and homes, committed to design and the creation of spaces that combine functionality and aesthetics.

Two days to explore new materials and applications.

The programme will begin on Wednesday, 11 November, at 11:00 a.m. with the conference ‘Tradition and Identity’, delivered by Cecilia López, architect and co-founder of Mol Arquitectura.

At 12:30 p.m., the round table ‘Materials and Innovation’ will bring together Cecilia López; Isabel Meyer, interior designer, founder of Estudio Meyer and member of the CDICV Board of Governors; Fran Villena, Head of the Technical Department at Tarimatec; and Manuel Martín, architect and founding partner of CU4 Arquitectura. The discussion will explore the relationship between materials, innovation and their application in interior design projects.

On Thursday, 12 November, at 11:00 a.m., Mónica Comunión, architectural technologist, interior designer and co-founder of Perspectiva Moma, will deliver the conference ‘The Memory of Wood: Designing Spaces to Last and Be Felt’, focusing on the relationship between materials, design and the experience of space.

The day will continue at 12:30 p.m. with the round table ‘Wood in Interior Design: From Material to Space’, featuring Andoni Díaz, founder of AD Estudio and vice-president of the General Council of Interior Design; Mónica Comunión, from Perspectiva Moma; Mónica Aznar, Marketing Director at Emedec; and Antonio Agulló, managing partner of Madentia.

Design and specialised training alongside the Ágora.

Alongside the Ágora stage, the Escola d’Art Superior i Disseny Space will be set up as an initiative connecting design with specialised training and the wood industry. The space will involve the Escola d’Art Superior i Disseny (EASD) and the public integrated vocational training centres in Catarroja and Paterna, which specialise in the wood sector. It will be sponsored by Lamiplast, a company specialising in wood and panels that offers tailored solutions for professionals and private customers.

This multipurpose space aims to raise the profile of educational programmes and career opportunities linked to the sector, bringing training centres closer to businesses and helping to promote generational renewal in a strategic industry. It also champions the role of design and the use of efficient, sustainable materials as key elements in developing new solutions for construction, architecture and interior design.

The joint presence of both spaces strengthens the connection between specification, design, innovation and training, and expands opportunities for knowledge exchange among the professionals and companies participating in FIMMA + Maderalia 2026.

Both initiatives form part of the exhibition’s programme of activities, which will showcase the latest market innovations in the use of wood and technologies associated with construction, architecture and interior design projects.
