DeHouse takes over management of the former Selina Navis space in Porto
DeHouse will energise and manage the former Selina Navis Coworking space, located in the iconic Arab Building at 199 Rua José Falcão in Porto.
This space will come alive from December and will become DeHouse Downtown, where a new business ecosystem will operate. This milestone represents a new era for the space, which will be adapted to continue to be a dynamic hub for work, innovation and collaboration.
Set in the context of Porto’s historic centre, DeHouse Downtown provides easy access to various amenities, including restaurants, bars and cultural events. With around 700 square metres, the space retains the structure and characteristics that make it unique, but introduces a renewed approach focused on providing an exceptional experience for companies and professionals. This coworking space has capacity for 4 private offices, 25 fixed desks, 3 meeting rooms, 3 phone booths, 1 shared pantry and several lounge areas.
Built in 1908, the Arab Building is a three-storey example of the neo-Arab style, classified as a monument of public interest. Initially conceived as part of an industrial complex in Devesas, dedicated to the production of ceramics in the Iberian Peninsula, the building functioned as a warehouse and showroom, displaying its characteristic ceramic tiles that still embellish the façade today.
In 2019, it was acquired by the Selina Group and transformed into a coworking space. Now under the DeHouse umbrella, the space will evolve and continue to become a modern coworking space focused on digital nomads, freelancers, startups and companies that value a dynamic and collaborative environment. DeHouse Downtown aims to provide not only an inviting workplace, but above all, a unique working experience. This transformation is based on an integrated vision of sustainability, well-being and community.
DeHouse has a flex office concept and promotes dynamic and cosy environments, in which each space is carefully decorated with a functional and inspiring design, designed to stimulate the creativity and well-being of users. In addition, DeHouse advocates a sense of community, and as such organises themed events, training and workshops, creating valuable opportunities for networking and professional development. Through exclusive benefits programmes, the DeHouse community becomes a vibrant space for professionals and companies to share experiences and knowledge.
Tomás Pitta, co-founder of DeHouse, emphasises: ‘DeHouse continues to expand its network of coworking spaces with the opening of this new location, which adds around 90 jobs to its already vibrant and diverse community. This new space reinforces DeHouse’s commitment to offering innovative and collaborative environments, joining the various spaces already established in Porto and Braga, and anticipating future expansion to Lisbon.’
He adds: ‘At DeHouse Downtown, work finds inspiration, creativity is stimulated and professionals have the opportunity to connect and innovate in an environment that reflects the best of Porto: heritage, modernity and collaboration. Our mission remains the same, to create places where talents, ideas and businesses can thrive together.’
