Christmas suggestion: Vale D. Maria Old White Port Harvest 1940
Very Old Wine Port is a rare wine, with only 300 bottles produced, which is very difficult to find in good enough condition to be bottled in a single harvest.
Since 1940, Vale D. Maria Very Old White Port has been kept in oak barrels, developing complex and elegant flavours and aromas. Over the years, the wine has evolved to a darker colour, with nuances of amber and yellow reflections. On the nose, it is opulent, with citrus notes and a honey core, displaying dried fruit and caramelised characteristics. On the palate, it’s balanced, with good freshness and harmony. It has a super long and very pleasant finish, creating a memorable experience that is definitely worth waiting for.
It’s a wine that has been aged for more than 80 years in old Port casks, passed down through several generations and culminating in a unique, high-quality Port. It’s a very rare wine, with only 300 bottles produced, all of which are listed. Every detail is done by hand, from bottling, labelling and handling. The bottle is then placed in premium packaging, a wooden box finished with pau santo wood and the inside lined with black velvety fabric.
