Augmented Reality Technology Arrives at sømcasa

The Valencian brand is committed to new technologies to improve the experience of its customers

Augmented Reality Technology Arrives at sømcasa

Once again, the Valencian furniture distributor and manufacturer sømcasa will be present this year at the 58th edition of Feria Hábitat Valencia 2024, which will be held from September 30 to October 3 at Feria Valencia. This event is an opportunity for professionals from the furniture and interior design sector to present their latest products to visitors.

For this reason, sømcasa wanted to take advantage of the Feria to present its most innovative actions and those that will be implemented in the near future.
From the use of new technologies to the presentation of the 2024 product catalogues and an updated image, sømcasa has decided to renew itself to offer an improved service to its customers and thus meet their needs in reference to the current demand in the world of furniture and interior design.

‘For more than 30 years, we have been constantly adapting to the current needs of professionals in the sector, both in terms of products and technology. That’s why we wanted to take advantage of this important event, Feria Hábitat Valencia, to present our new products to visitors to our stand,’ adds Óscar García, CEO of sømcasa.

2024: A Year of Changes, Adaptations, and New Technological Incorporations

This year, sømcasa wanted to go a step further. In this aspect, we are talking about technological innovations because, in the words of the Valencian distributor’s CEO: ‘sømcasa’s continuous product selection is focused on meeting the concerns and demands of our customers, professionals in the furniture and decoration sector, interior designers, architects, and hotel and catering installers. To do this, it is
necessary and essential to make their experience of acquiring our products as easy as possible.’

The current tools of technology help to improve that experience, and among them, they highlight the option of 3D product interior design in the articles that they have in
their online catalogue visible on the website somcasa.es.

‘Our team of specialists in 3D has incorporated this option to help our clients visualize all the potential that sømcasa articles can offer in realistic environments, avoiding possible misinterpretations of design that at first sight in a 2D photograph cannot be appreciated,’ explains García.

In turn, sømcasa works closely with interior designers and architects, facilitating their workflow by providing them with the necessary 3D models for their scenes, as well as
the possible combinations of their products in various interior environments through photorealistic renderings.

Those visiting the stand at Feria Hábitat Valencia will be able to make use of a new function acquired especially for the event: Augmented Reality (AR). By scanning a QR code with a mobile phone, visitors will be able to visualize an article from the catalogue in 3D in situ, combining it with the real world. ‘This technology allows us to interact in a more direct and original way with our products, seeing what they would look like in their original size and in a real environment.’

In addition to the technological novelties, at the beginning of April, sømcasa presented its new catalogues with a wide range of furniture and decoration articles, from chairs to dining tables, coffee tables, stools, armchairs, side tables, poufs, furniture, mirrors, lamps, and decorative pictures.

‘If there is one thing that defines us, it is that we make sure that the latest design trends are part of our product inventory,’ explains García. ‘We want our clients to have the opportunity to have the trendiest items at their disposal, and our team of technicians is in charge of selecting, manufacturing, and distributing the most up-to-date products,’ he adds.

Finally, and in connection with all these changes that have been incorporated throughout the current year, the image of sømcasa has also been renewed and will be presented in its entirety during this event that brings together hundreds of professionals from the furniture sector. ‘Without losing our identity, we have found it
necessary to change the way we communicate and present ourselves. At sømcasa, we have a long professional career in the sector, and we want to offer our experience and knowledge to the clients who are committed to our work,’ concludes Óscar García.
