Philippe Malouin

The British-Canadian designer Philippe Malouin holds a bachelor’s degree from the Design Academy Eindhoven. Philippe lives and works in London, where he has his design studio.

“Bilboquet” is a table lamp that marks his first collaboration with Flos. The lamp consists of two cylinders connected by a magnetic sphere that acts as a joint, allowing the upper cylinder to rotate, directing the flow of light. All the elements that make it up are inspired by the bilboquet, a game born in France in the 16th century, to which Malouin’s lamp owes its name.

With Bilboquet, Malouin transforms the use of light, evoking a playful experience and using it to create a balance of forms, materials, and colors.
