Bernadino Costa : Chocapalha Reserva Branco 2022
Talking amongst friends and acquaintances, or even listening or reading about great wines and great producers, it is unconsciously expected to hear about the same regions or producers. This is a myth, as great wines can be produced in any part of the country. Each with its own characteristics and nuances, but all of them remarkable
wines. The wine we present to you in this edition is a good example of that – Chocapalha Branco Reserva 2022. From Alenquer (region of Lisbon), this wine is sold at an uncommon price quality relationship – truly a bargain. As the name indicates, it is produced by Quinta da Chocapalha. According to the owners and producers – it all started in 1987 when Alice and Paulo were searching for an estate which would become the family project and where wine of great quality could be produced. At Quinta da Chocapalha, all family elements have a role in developing the spirit of the project. Alice and Paulo Tavares da Silvia found the estate to make the dream come true. Almost everything had to be done from scratch and quickly they took on the work to make Quinta da Chocapalha what it is today. The wines from Chocapalha mirror the passion and efforts of the family, the careful agriculture work, and the enological options translate into a great elegance and aging potential.
In the vinification process, the fermentation lasted 16 days, at low temperatures, in French oak casks. Afterwards, the wine stayed in the same casks, in contact with the fine lees, with “batonnage”, for 9 months.

Intense but clear color. A lot of aromatic richness,
in just the right amount. In the palate, although the
wood is noticeable, it presents an excelent balance,
good acidity and minerality. Very elegant, fresh and
with a long finish. Truly a treat for the senses.
