“His pieces reflect a search for elegance and lightness n a playful geometrical and sculptural game of lines and forms.”
Being trained at FRESS as a cabinetmaker and wood carver, methods of construction and joints are used to maximise longevity and solidity of the finished pieces. All work is handmade and finished with hand planes. There is no use of sandpaper. Finished surfaces acquire a special shinning and a light texture left by the hand plane strokes as it cuts the wood fibres. Defaults and small accidents are left noticeable, there are no cover-ups or hided mistakes. His pieces reflect a search for elegance and lightness in a playful geometrical and sculptural game of lines and forms. Beauty. His designs, his construction methods and techniques keep on evolving hand in hand with experience and time. There is a roughness to his pieces. His primitive side.
